Pacifica

Pacifica is where the tranquil coast meets suburbia. Here you’ll find a surfer beach with an oceanfront Taco Bell, the historic Sanchez Adobe and a park with a waterfall during rainy season.

Pacifica State Beach – This large beach offers spectacular views with surfers providing entertainment.  The best deal you’ll find in town is the dollar menu with fine dining views at the beach’s Taco Bell.

Rockaway Beach – Surrounded by small motels, this quiet beach offers offers visitors popular trails.  Its motels provide a quiet costal alternative for San Francisco visitors.

Sanchez Adobe – Built in 1785, this area was established to support and supply Mission Dolores in San Francisco.  Today it serves as an external branch of the San Mateo County Historical Museum.  Admission is free, although there is a small charge for tours.  Visit their website for current hours.

San Pedro Valley Park – The park’s Brooks Creek Trail features an unexpected 175 foot waterfall during rainy winter months.  Visit their website for park information and to get their current schedule.

South of Pacifica

Moss Beach – Sights include a renowned tide pool(accessibly only during low tide), an eerie cypress forrest and the Moss Beach Distillery.  (Learn More)

Princeton-by-the-sea – Home to the Mavericks surfing competition, here you’ll find easy access to the beach, a pier, and fresh seafood.  (Learn More)

Half Moon Bay – The historic buildings along downtown’s Main Street is the best collection of shops for strolling along the local coast. (Learn More)
